I'll Write You A Symphony: Behind Jared Dylan's Music Video

    By MediaBoss Team

Jared Dylan, 20, is going into his senior year at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, with more than a little bit of rock star credibility.

The aspiring singer/songwriter's music video for the single "Symphony" dropped last week and he's been getting 10,000 hits a day since it premiered on YouTube.

Not too shabby for an independent artist, but there is a lot more to the story than that. The first interesting bit is that he actually wrote "Symphony" when he was 16, and this overnight success has been four years in the making.

The Ultimate Guide to Producing an Animated Video

Animated video is a powerful communication tool. Humans have communicated by using pictures since the beginning of time.

Our ancient relatives drew Pictograms and Ideograms to convey their messages. And our love of visuals has not waned over the course of millennia.

Visual content is the key ingredient to make the marketers' coveted unicorn - online engagement. Posts with videos attract 3 times more inbound links than plain text posts. And videos increase people’s understanding of your product or service by 74%.

This is because people process visuals 60,000 times faster than they can read.

We're contacted about animated videos for two reasons:

Branding and Logo Design: Angel City Games

Eight years ago our Creative Director, Ian Barrett, was sitting at a patio bar in Los Angeles to kill time before his flight home to Boston.

While he was enjoying his beer he couldn't help but overhear the conversation going on next to him between a husband and wife. They were discussing their toddler boy and a possible upcoming surgery their son needed. Ian slid his chair over and said 'Excuse me, but I couldn't help but overhear ...'

4 Lighting Tips You Shouldn't Shoot Without

4 Lighting Tips for Great Video

Occasionally, you may not have the luxury of hiring a professional production company to shoot your video for you. Maybe there's a last minute opportunity to interview a star customer and there isn't time to schedule a crew (though you should still give us a call to see), or maybe there's a syngeristic moment that presents itself at a trade show. Or maybe, you want to do something creative after work and shoot a web short.

Whatever it is, you'll want to make it look as good as possible.

So you should go out and buy a top-of-the-line video camera for these moments, right?

    Wrong.

The key to great video is not the camera. It is the lighting.

Boston Marathon: 6 Mile Moment 2015

Monday's 119th Boston Marathon could have had better weather. But Framingham's residents didn't seem to notice the less-than-perfect conditions.

Downtown Framingham was packed with excited spectators - gathered together for Framingham's second annual 6 Mile Moment - to cheer on the runners and take part in the event's festivities.

The Bandit Band Member of the Boston Marathon

“Hey, didn’t I see you singing a ZZ Top song back there?”

Brendan Cheever is a Framingham local, the owner of Cheever Industries, and a marathon runner, who has had two extremely unique experiences at the Framingham 6 Mile Moment.

“Oh, the Marathon’s coming up on Monday, I think I’ll run it.” Cheever was a bandit runner as a kid, jumping in and running for about six miles before stopping at The Chicken Bone to watch the trained runners go by. He finally got the chance to officially run the marathon in 2013.

Cheever’s oldest son has autism and attends the Nashoba Learning Group out of Bedford, MA. Each year, the school receives bibs for the Boston Marathon and after getting an email about registering to run, Cheever thought, “Well if I click on this now, this is going to change my life.”
